Solicitors are legally qualified, and regulated by a Professional Body (the Law Society of England and Wales) whose Code of Professional Conduct they must abide by. Solicitors will conduct your claim from start to finish.

Claims Handlers are not Solicitors, often do not possess any legal qualifications whatsoever, and are not usually regulated by any Professional Body. Unlike Solicitors, most Claims Handlers will not actually conduct personal injury claims themselves but, instead, simply sell the case to a Third Party (such as a Solicitor) who may well not be locally based, and may not deal with the client on a face to face basis (instead relying upon communications with the client by letter and telephone)
