Personal Injury - Frequently Asked Questions
IF I AM UNABLE TO WORK, HOW CAN I PAY MY HOUSEHOLD BILLS ?
If your employer stops paying you, then you should apply for State Benefits. Indeed, if your employer reduces your pay whilst you are off work (such as to Statutory Sick Pay only, or to a rate of Company Sick Pay which is lower than your usual rate of pay) you may, depending upon your financial circumstances generally, still qualify for a State Benefit such as Income Support.
If your injury prevents you from working, then you would usually be able to include a claim for Loss of Earnings as part of your claim for compensation on top of any award in respect of the Pain, Suffering and Loss of Amenity associated with your actual injuries.
