WHY WILL IT BE NECESSARY FOR ME TO ATTEND MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS ARRANGED BY YOU IF I AM ALREADY SEEING MY OWN DOCTOR OY RECEIVING TREATMENT FROM A HOSPITAL ?

Your own doctor or hospital will only be concerned with getting you better. For the purposes of your claim for compensation we need a detailed Medical Report setting out the precise nature and severity of your injuries, the treatment received by you and giving an expert opinion in relation to your likely recovery, as this is how compensation for injuries is valued.

Your own doctor will not usually be considered “independent” enough for the purpose of a claim for compensation, may be too optimistic with regard to the likely prospects for a full recovery from the effects of your injuries, and may not even have experience of preparing the kind of detailed Medical Reports which we require for the purpose of legal proceedings or, indeed, of giving evidence in Court if need be.

We will, therefore, arrange for you to be seen by an independent Medical Expert (usually a Hospital Consultant) on a private basis, who will consider all of your medical records, medically examine you and thereafter prepare a detailed Medical Report for use by this firm in support of your claim for compensation. If need be, that Medical Expert will also attend at Court.
