Bill qualified as a solicitor in 1979, having obtained an honours degree in law. Since qualification, he worked with and then became a Partner (and ultimately the Senior Partner) in a long established local firm of solicitors, Bishops, formerly of Gitana Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. He joined Woolliscrofts as a result of the merger of the two firms of Bishops and Woolliscrofts, on the 1st November 2005.
Bill has gained a broad experience across a wide range of legal matters, but with the emphasis upon contentious work including family matters, personal injury claims, general civil litigation, employment issues and privately funded criminal cases. He also has experience in insolvency and housing matters.
He sits as a Deputy District Judge, having been appointed to do so in July 2001.
Bill is married, with two children. His leisure interests include foreign travel, particularly to European cities, hill walking and fishing.
