Andrew is the Managing Partner of Woolliscrofts (having previously been the Senior Associate Solicitor of the Practice and the Practice Manager of the firm)
Born and educated locally, Andrew initially qualified as a Legal Executive in 1994 before ultimately qualifying as a Solicitor.
Andrew studied for his Solicitors’ Examinations at the Law School of Staffordshire University (passing those examinations with Distinction) and subsequently undertook the Law Society’s Professional Skills Course in Nottingham (achieving an assessment grade of "Excellence" in Advocacy & Oral Communication).
Although still a Solicitor with the Practice and regarded as the "lawyers’ lawyer" of the practice, Andrew now concentrates primarily on managing the firm - an increasingly demanding role given both the expansion of the firm, the ever increasing role of Information Technology in the legal sector and the radical changes that have occurred in both the market for legal services and in the regulation and administration of the law.
In addition to his Practice Management responsibilities, Andrew does also undertake both an advisory and supervisory role within the Personal Injury Department of the firm.
A Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, since 1996 Andrew has specialised in undertaking Personal Injury Claims on behalf of injured persons and has undertaken a wide range of Personal Injury work and particularly enjoys cases which involve the need for legal research and/or heavy documentation, difficult or multi-disciplinary medical issues or a reliance upon important legal issues. Andrew has always had a particular interest in accidents at work (particularly where allegations of Contributory Negligence are made against the injured employee by those representing the employer) cases involving spinal and/or other orthopaedic injury.
Andrew also has a particular interest in issues concerning Legal Costs generally (but particularly in the areas of Non-Contentious Costs, Contentious Costs in Personal Injury Litigation, Conditional Fee Agreements and Contingency Fee Agreements)
INTERESTS – In addition to spending as much time as possible with his wife and daughter, when time allows, Andrew enjoys walking or cycling in the countryside, photography, listening to music, science fiction, DIY and expanding his appreciation of both wines and Single Malt Whiskies!
